how augusta has transformed by reviving & rebuilding its abandonded places

HAILEY DOMINY, MARCUS EDGINGTON, TERRENCE GRIFFIN, SITA PATEL, AND NATALIE RIVERA

Welcome to
abandoned augusta,ga

Through research we observed how places tranformed space and place in Augusta, Ga. These places had different functions in the Old South as opposed to the New South. To illustrate these differences we chose six examples in the Augusta area. These places include the Ezekiel Harris House, Augusta Arsenal, Partidge Inn, Sibley and Enterprise Mills, and Rosemary Hall Inn. All of these places have either been completely modified into something new or have been revived to be reused. The Ezekiel Harris House has become a tourist site for educational purposes. Augusta Arsenal has been renovated into administration buildings for Augusta University. Partridge Inn and Rosemary Inn are now accommodations for people traveling through the Augusta area. Sibley and Enterprise Mills are being used by Georgia Power, as administration buildings, and for weddings. The renovations of these buildings have restored functionality, given new purpose, and in some cases added modern touches while simultaneously maintaining historic aspects.
